Home Tour

My husband and I met while we were both studying architecture in graduate school at Harvard, so for us, getting to design and build this home for ourselves has truly been a dream come true. Since we are still actively decorating, this is a mix of finished rooms, and some that are clearly waiting their turn.

Click here for a post with paint colors for each room.

Our Living Room! This is my favorite room so far, and I'm totally in love with how the colors are coming together. For more information about the fireplace and mantel the posts are in three parts: one, two and three.  To enable our TV to float on the wall we have a Technology closet between the living room and dining room for all of the equipment. You can find how I decorated for the holidays with gifts on the mantle here.

The Dining Room is continually being updated. See those blank walls above? They now have art on them:)

I use the Library as my office, as well as a space to keep some of the "extra" toys that overflow other spaces.

Our Kitchen is really my dream come true. We used Christopher Peacock Scullery White cabinets, Calcutta Oro marble slab counters and included a ton of things that help keep me organized like an organized spice drawer, kitchen clock, hidden trash, and a pantry. For the mommy-ing part of me we have a morning launching pad, and redone family command center on the back of our pantry door.

In the Entryway we have the piano I used when I was a child, right now no one in the family plays, so it's just there for looks and sentimental value.

The Powder Room features a diaper changing station, and we've added art in the bathroom as well.

Upstairs, we have a Loft with a deer decal, heart art, yearly collage frames, and our wedding canopy hanging on the wall.

My husband's Office is at the top of the house. We've updated it with a new hide rug, and the couch and coffee table are in the works.

The Master Bedroom is slowly coming along, we have added art above the bed and velvet curtains to add depth and light control.

The Master Bath has the same Calcutta Oro slab counters tops and tub surround, as well as marble subway tiles on the walls and a marble mosaic floor.

Our Little Girl's Butterfly Bedroom is her dream come true, with so many things on the walls it's hard for me to even count them. We also gave her a "new" nightstand when we did the Nightstand Switcheroo with her younger brother.

What started out as a Little Boy's Room, has morphed into a big boy's room with construction truck bedding.

Pink and Teal Nursery is where our newest addition sleeps.

The Guest Room and Bath are being updated to feature a fun confetti wall treatment, a stenciled nightstand and more.

Outside, the house is clad in cedar shingles with black trim. You can see how we decorate for patriotic holidays, how we use the backyard, and parties we throw on the deck.

  11. After seeing your bathroom, I had to check out the home tour. I just love how you used marble on all of your counters throughout the house. We built our home four years ago and chose Carrara marble for the perimeter kitchen counters, but we cheaped out on our master bath countertop and went with cultured marble instead. Sooo not what I wanted, and it bothers me every day. Hoping to upgrade soon.
