Rainbow Paper Chains

Nothing like a crafty kid to get me going on my adventure to find free fun:)

In preparation for our baby's upcoming 1st birthday (it's going to be rainbow themed), my five year old wanted to make paper chains.

Pay to attention to the fact that the paper chains would never last until said birthday celebration:)

This year, I finally got smart, and we used a paper cutter (the same one I used to trim the school photos that are ont eh gallery wall) and pop-up tape dispensers to attach each ring.

It made me feel like a paper-chain genius, I'm telling you:)

We also made a "fancy paper" paper chain.

Plus, lots and lots of rainbow ones.

Of course, then when I went outside to hang the chains up, I realized I can't reach the trellis, so we attached the chains together, to make a longer chain, and dangled that by strings from the trellis.

My kids decided it looked like a bridge.

Can you see that?

Now that I have the system down, I don't think I'll have any problems re-making them for the birthday party in a few weeks time.

My sisters and I used to make these for Christmas all the time and decorate my grandmother's entire downstairs with them! So fun! :)
