Owl Pancakes

Owl Pancakes

Part of the 31 Days of Free Fun series (see all my previous posts here), is about making my kids smile and giggle- enter the Owl Pancake.

My initial idea involved owl cookies, but it was a Sunday morning and we were having pancakes, so this is what we wound up with.

In my head, adding extra batter to create the owl-like eyes before placing the chocolate chips on would have created a better effect. Meh, it's close enough.

I also think I'd go with a pecan for the mouth, since it's more vertical, but we only had cashews and almonds...

They were still a success, and my daughter told me that since they had chocolate on them (2 chips each), they didn't need syrup!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I love hearing what you have to say! Sometimes I'm busy chasing after the three kids who can walk, or feeding the baby, but I promise, at some point I'll get back to you and head over to your blog (if you have one) to leave you a comment too:)
