After we added those pops of yellow with the art prints of Paris over the bed, I've been waiting not-so-patiently for new bedding.
To remind you, our old bedding was fine, just all white, and we have had all white bedding since we got married over 7 years ago. It's the "before".
It was time for a change.
Ideally, in the direction of a duvet that wouldn't look wrinkled with kids jumping on it, and my half-hearted bed making in the morning rush hour.
I could not be happier with this pintuck duvet and shams from West Elm.
I really like how it ties into the wall color (Christopher Peacock Charcoal if you're curious).
Plus, it gave me an opportunity to clean up our nightstands. Mine has flowers on occasion and a painting in an Ikea frame that I made one afternoon with my daughter.
My husband's has a yellow vase from homeGoods, and an I Love You art that I made with paint dots form a straw. As you saw yesterday with the Mickey Mouse Halloween craft, I can get very crafty on Sunday afternoons with my daughter:)
From the deck, you can see the whole she-bang.
And speaking of the deck, here she is, with the corner of a sofa that we have never-ever sat on. One day...

Smart move with the duvet! I would never even think to just get something that hides all the "jump marks". The bed jumping is a fairly regular thing around here too. Hmm, you've got me thinking...
ReplyDeletemy kids constantly mistake the bed for their trampoline. great choices for your bedding.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the picture gallery above the bed. All the bright yellow really pops and keeps the eye moving throughout the room. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteLove it all. I especially love the artwork above the bed. I am a huge fan of Paris ever since my hubby took me on his R&R during one of his deployments. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good! I don't know if you're into the really bold look but it would look awesome if you painted your nightstands (and maybe even the wood on your bed frame) a yellow or black!
ReplyDeleteLooks so good! and I'm happy to hear that my kids aren't the only ones who jump on my freshly made bed. I love the art work above the bed, and the paint color on the walls is PERFECT. I seriously am in love with it.

I love this colour combo and you dont need a lot of yellow just the flowers, vase and stool and wow what a gorgeous pop of colour. I love your duvet as well the built in wrinkles mean the kids can jump away and nobody will know :)
ReplyDeleteLove your art work over your bed. Did you take those pictures? Love yellow and gray together. I like the pops of color you added.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I was up to this week:
