We stil have a lot of jars left over, even after I turned leftover baby food jars into vases for Mother's Day. I saw adorable sippers in a magazine (the June issue of Real Simple), then saw them in this pin from Pinterest, and decided to DIY some for my son's construction themed birthday party.
With no metal punch, my husband decided to try using a screwdriver and a hammer to punch a hole in the lids.
Perfect fit!
Next, I took off all the labels, but the bits that were stuck on needed to be removed with Goo Gone
. That stuff takes off anything sticky, from labels, to price tags. I also put the jars through the dishwasher to make sure they were really clean.

Next, I spray painted the lids white and added orange straws to go with the colors of the party.
All ready to on the buffet... Just waiting for the chocolate construction machine cake to go with them:)
Filled with lemonade, not the made from scratch lemonade of a few weeks ago, just the regular in-a-bottle kind (our tree hasn't kept producing at a sufficient rate:)
I also added a lemon slice to each one so it was clear what it was.
The birthday boy loved it! He downed this super fast and asked for a refill. That is the downside to these jars, they only hold 4 ounces. On the plus side, after 4 ounces of lemonade, I was happy to just refill the jars with water, leave the lemon slice in, and the kids were just as happy, sipping away.

I saw those jars and thought about ordering them...until I saw the price. Yikes! I love the size of yours for the little tikes. I might use your steps to make larger ones for the adults...and add an adult drink.

Doesn't work too well. Followed the same steps but the punching through the left sharp pieces of metal exposed underneath the lid. I pounded them flat but they rusted and the sharp flat pieces of metal were not attractive
