My living room is featured on Remodelaholic today! I'm so excited, so hop on over to let them know how much you love it. Plus, they even called it an "Immaculate Living Room", which is just awesome for me. I'm grinning from ear to ear:)
Building into a hill meant we had to build up and up in order to have the main floor take full advantage of the view, which you can see on display in the kitchen and from the deck. In the process we wound up with an *extra* floor. You could call it a basement, except it has twelve foot ceilings and huge windows. One of the rooms we gained was an empty shell until we decided to make it into a home gym, although with all of the stairs, we could have just used them for a workout.
These lead from the mudroom and garage to the playroom and gym.
The stairs between our "basement" and the main floor.
Our entry with the new piano, and stairs leading up to the bedrooms (butterfly girl's room, master, nursery, orange and navy bedroom, and guest)
The stars between the bedroom floor (you can see a bit of the loft decal in the background) and my husband's office.
We were lucky enough to get my dad's exercise equipment from storage and to buy a secondhand treadmill from my sister's neighbors. Our old TV and stereo found a home down here (our new TV and stereo are upstairs in the living room), which is prefect since I pretty much just want to be on the treadmill watching bad reality TV or watching an on demand video. The floor is made up of rubber-backed carpet squares to absorb more impact than traditional carpet.

Linda
That's a lot of stairs! Man, I wish I had a gym at my house! Love the floor!
ReplyDeleteLove your gym! Really you do not need a gym with all of your stairs
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Whew, those stairs are a workout in themselves! You must have some seriously toned quads!
ReplyDeleteMy gym is in my unfinished basement! But I do have a few big windows to stare out into the light which makes my workouts (almost) bearable!!
Love your carpet squares!
Kelly

ReplyDeleteThis gym doesn't surprise me in the least - it's as fabulous as you are!
Those stairs have to be apart of your work out routine!
ReplyDeleteSaw your feature and thought it was wonderful.
Ooooh! I'd love to have a home gym - until the family room and some dvd's and 3lb weights will have to do. :-) I love the carpet squares, I'll have to remember that. -Jen (ps - we finally finished the fort if you want to see it).
ReplyDeleteWow, what an awesome space! But you are indeed on a "stairmaster" all day long, my dear -- especially with a baby or two on your hip!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Remodelholic feature!
