I was browsing the dollar aisle at Target for pails to go with the construction themed-birthday party, when I found these cute blue pails. On a whim I snatched up five of them and brought them home with the hope that I could use them to corral our endless arts and crafts supplies.
They fit perfectly on a lazy susan I had in a drawer, no longer useful in our current kitchen where the drawers have built-in dividers.
Five pails, each one holds a different type of item: crayons, pencils, large twister crayons, adhesives (glues and tape), and scissors.
My daughter likes to use our punches, and she has a caboodle full of glitter glue that sit right next to the carousel.
My play area really needed this. Now if only I could create a stuffed animal carousel I'd be all set:)

I love that art nook! The carousel is such a great idea, and ideal for sharing.
ReplyDeletePS: haven't heard the word "caboodle" in a loooong time and it brought back memories of the purple one I use to have stuffed with head bands and hair bows. Thanks for the trip down memory lane :)
I snatched up a ton of tin buckets with the wooden handle in the $1 as well! I use them for EVERYthing (they are great for flowers arrangements). Right now, my last 2 are sitting on my kitchen table full of crayons! I wish I had a playroom like yours - we no longer eat at our kitchen table. It's pure crafts (and covered in paint). I love the lazy susan idea, our table is small so it's not necessary but it's definitely something to think about if things change.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I hear caboodle used too. I used to love mine. Glad to see they are still around and looking more stylish than the ones I had.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I just organized Kate's craft space with those same dollar bin Target buckets, but on hooks! We Jessica's must think alike! ;)

Love these buckets - I bought 3 of the same color at Target a few weeks ago, but mine didn't have the cute little wooden knob on the handle. What a clever idea to use them on a lazy susan! You are so fun!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea for keeping kids things organized. I have the metal ones with wooden knobs that I keep arts and crafts supplies and office supplies in, very handy and cute too.
ReplyDeleteI love these too! best thing in the dollar section. you can always find something!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! It was clever to put them on a lazy Susan.
ReplyDeleteYour little crafters' area is bigger and much more organized than my own :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Jessica. I used to use little pails like this when I taught primary school. Lazy susans make great art carousels.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! Would love if you shared at the Pomp Party! Found you through the Sunday Blog Hop! Following along via GFC!

What a sweet idea! Your play/craft area would have entertained me for HOURS as a kid... and probably now too. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm your newest follower from Blisful & Domestic Sunday Blog Hop. So glad to have found your site. It's great. I would love for you to follow me back at http://lifeofblocks.blogspot.com/ Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSuch a colorful and clever idea! Now you just need to train the kids to put things back in the correct buckets ... that was always my downfall in my attempts at organization!
ReplyDelete:)
