Construction Truck Bedding

It has arrived!

The big-boy bed is now all here.

We had a minor-in-my-eyes-major-in-my-son's-eyes snafu when the bed frame was delivered and the mattress was too big. He was so sad, all he wanted was his bed ready for him with the sheets. So the bed frame sat in his room for a week while he slept in his crib in the middle of the rooms asking if he could sleep on "just the slats" of his bed.

The mattress arrived at 7:50am, and by 8:15am he and his sister were doing this.

The baby had to try it out as well.

Meet the lovies.

Car Pillow, Pink Baby and Boo-Boo Bunny. (so named since it has a pouch for an-already-lost ice pack in the tummy)

Banana Bear and Puppy.

Hidden behind the car pillow (from Target) is a tiny orange pillow that my sister made with my daughter with a fire truck drawn on it. It's hidden so "it won't fall off the bed".

The bedding is from Target, because he still has accidents at night and I'm not spending a fortune on sheets that will get trashed, and most likely be filled with sand. That boy brings home a playground full of sand in his shoes everyday. I digress.

The colors go really well with his new nightstand, his existing wall color, and his white Ikea expedit.

We turned his bookshelf on it's end and it fits perfectly at the end of the bed. We still have to attach it to the wall so it doesn't become a giant climbing structure, but it's on the list.

Here is how much room we have to work with, hopefully the crib will go down this week.

Ahh, he's all grown up. Notice the construction truck shirt. The boy likes to coordinate!

  9. Darling. I remember the "big boy bed." About fifteen years ago, it became a "giant boy bed." The "boy" is now 6'1" aand weighs 200 pounds.

  19. Hello! I am working on a book development project. I am writing a children's book about the transition from crib to "big kid bed." I am looking for photographs to use in my book, and I really like the photos you have posted to your blog of your son in his new bed! I am writing to ask if you would be willing to give me rights to use the photograph/s in my book. I will need permission to use it for commercial use. Please let me know if you have questions about the content of the book. Thank you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I love hearing what you have to say! Sometimes I'm busy chasing after the three kids who can walk, or feeding the baby, but I promise, at some point I'll get back to you and head over to your blog (if you have one) to leave you a comment too:)
