Newspaper Hearts

First I started with my one and only craft punch, the heart.

I've used it for heart art in the loft sitting area, and for general crafting with the kids. I spray painted a canvas navy (during our spray paint marathon), then punched out a ton of hearts from a newspaper (The Wall Street Journal, in case you are interested), then I glued them down in a vague approximation of a tree. And when I say "I" I mean "my daughter" since she is the super-crafter in our family.

When it's done on our spring mantle, I think it might go live in our son's room. He recently started asking for more art in there, focusing on "trains, construction machines and orange". Two year old boys certainly know what they like!

Oh, this is super cute. And it's a great way to use hearts without being super-cutesy. It just looks artistic and sweet instead. Great job!

Super cool and easy peasy! I love the idea of using newspaper instead of wrecking an old book (though I've wrecked a book or two for the sake of crafts!). Filing this one away!

What a great use of resources. As usual, love it! I am curious...how black where your fingers when you were done?

So very cute! Your home is amazing! I need more time to look through your old posts...time is limited when Kindergarten is only three hours long and the house needs to be cleaned.
