Step one was organizing the jewelry trays. When we built this house, we ordered our kitchen cabinets from one manufacturer, the bathroom cabinets from another (master bath, guest bath, powder room and kids), and we built the laundry room cabinets for Ikea ourselves. The cabinet dealer for the bathrooms had some extra closet pieces that didn't fit correctly for the client who had ordered them, so he offered them up to us, as long as we could pick them up. The two pieces, as you can see, are slightly different widths and have different things going on with the drawers, but they were free! Plus one was white and the other bisque, so we had to paint them.
Mine (on the right), has two slide out trays. Previously I had been taking apart my jewelry box and just putting things in willy-nilly. Now, all the cute (not fancy) stuff is out there, encouraging me to wear it. Plus I cleaned up the bottom shelf as well. Progress!

I would be dangerous with a closet that big! You would never know those cabinets were not intended for your closet though. They look great!

Morning Jessica,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
Love the white and your lighting choice.
The jewelry display is very pretty also.
What's in your fridge? Just kidding.
Enjoy your day!
I'm coming to visit your closet someday...I'll just bring my sleeping bag, curl up by that mini-fridge and you'll never know I was there...and maybe if I lose some weight, I can sneak around in your clothes, too...
ReplyDeleteI love that you have a mini fridge in your closet! That had to be your husbands idea. I know mine would want one in there! lol Seriously though...beyond jealous! I wish my walk in was as long as that!

Looks great. I really need to better organize my jewelry so I can see what I have and actually wear it!
ReplyDeleteYou are one organized jewelry wearing diva!
ReplyDeleteIs that a fridge I spy in there? Let me guess, it's filled with champagne and strawberries! (or sippy cups and bottles)!

What a great deal! They look fine different widths, just like you planned it that way- since they look so high end and all.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kelly- a closet fridge! Saweet!

Hi Jessica - love your closet and jewelry shelves! And the wall color too! Do you find that your jewelry jiggles around when you open and close the shelves or are they lined so that everything stays put? I really love your orange (or maybe they are red?) and turqouise beads! I have my jewelry in a large freestanding mirrored cabinet. I really like that it has separate compartments with ring holders, earring holders as well as hooks for necklaces. I think that's so great you scored those shelving units...You go girl - you took the bigger of the two units! Ha! I would have done the same!! Have fun organizing it all - maybe you can inspire me to organize my walk-in too! Have a fabulous week :)

ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry....was there actually a post in here somewhere? I was too busy drooling at your HUGE WALK IN CLOSET. Jealous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous closet!! May I ask where you found those light fixtures?
ReplyDeleteI got them from Shades of Light. Young House Love had a discount code that I used (they might still have it on their site).
