Here it is right as we were moving in:
Then I added some accessories, since I was still pregnant with the baby, and it wasn't such a big deal to just stand my son up on the counter to change him:
And now, with a little baby, here is what it looks like now:
It is one of the most functional spaces we have. The top drawer under the changer holds baby diapers, sensitive wipes, and an extra outfit. The second drawer holds diapers for our son, and thick wipes. The bottom drawer holds extra toilet paper and trash bags for the trash can that is just on the other side of the door, in the toilet room. The potpourri (from Ikea) works great to mask odors, and the basket on the counter is for baby laundry like burp clothes and blankets. This lets me avoid trooping upstairs each time the baby spits up. The little tray under the hand wash was a wedding gift, and I love how it fits right in to the color scheme. Notice the small potty under the bench in the toilet room. It works both as a potty for potty-training, as well as a step so our daughter can reach the handles to wash her hands on her own.
It's different from the master bath upstairs, but both are given over to the practicality of life with little kids.

You are so clever! Oh, how I wish I could custom build my very own house ...
:)

AWESOME! We have one bathroom and it sucks! Words cannot even express how jealous I am :)
What a great little space. I hate that I have to go upstairs to change the baby. It'd be so nice to have a space on the first floor for a changing area!
My hubby lost his side of the vanity when I used it as a changing table for my kids. Now that I no longer have to hoist them up to change diapers- he dos'nt know how to use the space!:) now following u on Linky.

What a great idea! Wish we had had one of these. We did have 3 change tables at one stage, one in each bedroom and one downstairs! ;) x Julie
What a great idea, especially with water and soap so handy, too. Love all the storage!
Love the bathroom so cool I wish I had a large bathroom with a cool vanity but no I have a sucky bathroom
Your house is gorgeous! You must be a great designer!
That is dreamy...and so functional!
Oh how I wish I had one of these when I was changing diapers! Great idea. Good for company with small children too! It was always embarrassing to have to ask for a good place to change my kids.
Looks nice.
I'm following you now and would love to have you come by and follow me also. Best wishes, Linda
That would be wonderful to have downstairs in our house. I just keep a pack and play set up in the living room to use as our changing station downstairs. It is nice having a place to change her upstairs and downstairs though.
Great idea for a changing station on every floor! If only the blogging world was around when I had babies. :-)

Love this idea! We have one tiny bathroom, so I've never been able to do it, but it's so practical!
Great idea! This would have worked well in the house I USED to have - but now I don't own a 2-story and my kids are grown (but I am "expecting" a grandbaby in June!) However, it is a cute idea!
Brilliant! I am gaga over your counters! Nice work!
You can check out my project at www.migonishome.com; I made a tufted headboard.

I love that you have this set up in your downstairs bathroom! So convenient! (And lovely!)

Brilliant to add a spot for diaper changes, in of all places the bathroom! You know how many kids I changed on my floors, counters, dining room table, bed? LOTS!

What a wonderful idea. You will be so glad you did that and not have to worry about running up and down the stairs. Great job! Beautiful powder room!
I hadn't even realized it: that one would need a baby changing/potty station in tiny powder room that one usually has to make do with, in a multi-storey house. It's so essential (duh!) - for our own use/little guests that are bound to be a norm with kids in the house! Very nicely done Jessica!!
SUCH a great idea!!
Hi, I love your blue cabinet could you please tell me the color you used? Thx!
